Under Turkish legislation, anyone who operates an aerial work platform must hold a certificate. In practice, the point that causes the most confusion is where that certificate comes from.
Operator certificates are issued by institutions approved by the Ministry of National Education (MEB). You enrol on the relevant course, complete the training and exam, and are issued with an MEB-approved operator certificate. Hire companies cannot issue this certificate. Skyrise Platform does not issue operator certificates either; we point you in the right direction and provide on-site training in how to use the machine.
The training we give on delivery covers the controls of that specific machine, its safety equipment, the emergency lowering procedure and the daily check items. It does not replace the operator's legal obligation to hold a certificate; it complements it.
Having these documents delivered in a file with the machine makes occupational health and safety inspections easier. We recommend asking for this file with every machine you hire.
The hire company is responsible for delivering the machine maintained, with up-to-date inspections and in working order; the user company is responsible for making sure it is used properly, by certified personnel and in line with the manufacturer's instructions. We deal with any breakdown not caused by the way the machine is used; if a machine is out of service for an extended period, a replacement machine is sent.

Most machines sent out to site belong to one of these two classes. The difference between them fits into a single sentence: is there an obstacle or not?
“Platform height” and “working height” are not the same thing. The two metres between them are the most common reason the wrong machine gets sent.
